Biography of Makcim
Makcim was born in Moscow in the year 1979. During his childhood he listened to Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Russian Classic and many more.. At the age of 12 he moved to the Netherlands. Since 1996 Makcim started buying records frequently after he got inspired by the music in the house scene.
In 1999 he got his first residency in a bar in Eindhoven called ‘De Hoogste Tijd’. During the time he played there, and also organised some illegal parties, he got to know some new people which he founded a new platform with, called ‘Minimal Eindhoven’.
Throughout the years Makcim and ‘Minimal Eindhoven’ established a good name in the house/techno scene. He has been playing on events such as Lowlands, Awakenings, Voltt, 5 Days Off, Static, Innercity, Mysteryland, W.T.T.F.,Dance Valley and more.With artists like Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Guido Schneider, Zip, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug etc.
Makcim is playing often in Berlin now, in Moscow and in Copenhagen.
Makcim’s style is a mixture of deep, rhythmic, sexy, chunky music. His first record is released in may 2008 on Remote Area and the second ( a 2x12" )one is released in February 2009!
